Real results, not just certificates on walls
Look, sustainability isn't just a checkbox for us. When you're designing for -40°C winters and buildings that need to last generations, you learn pretty quick that cutting corners isn't an option.
We've watched too many "green" buildings fail in northern climates because someone applied California standards to Alberta winters. That's why everything we do starts with understanding the local environment – and I mean really understanding it, not just pulling climate data from a database.
Every project starts with months of local climate analysis – not theory, actual data.
We design for 50+ year lifespans, not just passing next year's inspection.
Multiple LEED AP professionals on staff who've actually completed Gold and Platinum projects
Certified Passive House designers – we've built three in Edmonton alone
Active members in BC's Built Green program with 15+ certified projects
Trained in Net Zero energy design – because that's where everything's headed anyway
This isn't projected data – these are actual measurements from buildings we've completed
Our last residential project in Calgary uses 73% less heating energy than the house next door (same square footage, built in 2018). The owner's heating bills went from $320/month to under $90.
Commercial project in Vancouver – we installed a greywater system that's saved them over 2.4 million liters in three years. Yeah, their facility manager sends us Christmas cards now.
Not every building needs solar panels (seriously, we'll tell you if it doesn't make sense). But when it does? We've got buildings producing 90%+ of their own electricity in summer months.
Here's something they don't always talk about – the embodied carbon in your building materials often exceeds operational carbon over the building's lifetime. We learned this the hard way on a project in 2019.
Now we run full lifecycle assessments before specifying major materials. Sometimes that means paying a bit more upfront for locally-sourced timber instead of shipping concrete halfway across the country.
"The greenest building is the one that lasts the longest" – something our founder's been saying since 2008, and we're still proving it right.

Every project's different, and honestly, sometimes the most sustainable choice isn't the most obvious one. We'd rather spend 30 minutes on the phone figuring out what actually makes sense for your building than send you a generic proposal.
Whether you're starting from scratch or retrofitting an existing building, let's chat about what's actually achievable (and what's worth the investment).
